Chromed out Thunderbird bass

I chromed out my Thunderbird, really pleased with how it turned out.
Hipshot tuners and bridge, Mojo humbuckers, Gibson replacement knobs.
Hipshot hardware always makes everything better and the Mojo pickups are a great upgrade to the stock Gibson humbuckers, which I find to be too dark and muffled. Much clearer top end and tighter lows now.
Thanks to Bill for the help with this project.

I’ve always preferred clover tuners on Thunderbirds! Nicely done Andrew!!

Oh Yeah! I grew up in Northern California, and Thunderbird wine was the preferred choice of skid-row bums, and itinerant farm workers - very cheap, and Very Effective!

Oh man, that looks awesome! I may follow suit. I agree about the Gibson PUPs, they suck, though the PUPs in the LP bass sound great, so Gibson's capable of a decent PUP.

I agree back at you, the pickups in the Les Paul bass sound really good but the Thunderbird pickups sound like there's a blanket over your amp.
I recommend the Mojo pickups. I was looking at Lollar and Thunderbucker pickups but then Mojo popped up and they seemed really nice but also their turn around time was decently fast (they quoted 6 week turnaround and did it in 3) and their price was better than Lollar or Thunderbucker too. I had to get the pickup rings separately because Mojo don't offer them but I got them off ebay for about $10. Also, I didn't get the option but Mojo can do the pickups switchable between humbuckers and single coils (that you can put on to push/pull volume knobs).
