I'm wondering if Ibanez ever made any of the SR basses as 5 string. I like the SR400, 800 and so on and it would be cool to have a 5. I am aware of the SR505 but I don't like the wood color of it and the gio and gsr are cheapo imo. Just wondering if they're out there.

The 1205:

These feel and play soooooo nice. Just not my sound, unfortunately.

I saw those, but again, back to that wood look that I don't like. I guess I should say, old Ibanez not current. If I don't find one I'll have to go the Warwick route but the 5 string streamer rockbass LX 5 is tough to find.

I have a 505 and was very close to buying a 1205. Both "wood look though". There was a 505TKF model which is all black but it might be Japan only, IIRC.

Wolf, per Jeroen's comment I think the SR885 is what you're looking for? I'm not sure if it was available in Lefty or not.

Thanks for that. I have yet I find anything on any of the older models coming in a lefty as a 5 string. If I don't find one I'll go with a Warwick streamer rockbass 5LX

There was, in the 1990s, but it is very rare. A store in Amsterdam had one for years, all black, with a black lacquered neck and active EQ with dual concentric EQ knobs. I bought a Yamaha TRB5II instead, but I liked it a lot.
