Original finish was sunburst which was stripped before I bought it. Someone along the line stripped to Natural. This refin/aging was done by a shop in St. Louis. All other parts are original.Moses wrote:Refin??! How flippin bad could the original finish have been?!?!

On my 78, the finger rest is in the thumb position, and on this, it's in the finger position. Is this correct for that year? Which one is period correct, this bass, or mine?

On a '78, the correct position of the thumbrest is on the bass side.

The stock Fender gold anodized pick guards come with the thumb rest holes drilled for that position which is the correct position for 57 thru 59 anodized pick guards.
