Fender Japan Jazz '75 Model
Hi, again!
I am still on a purge kick, so let's see if anyone is interested in this guy. It is in great shape, and plays excellent. The neck really is great on this bass. The block decals have been removed, revealing the beautiful white blocks. It also currently has a gold Badass II bridge, gold Hipshot tuners (including a D-tuner on the E-string), and brand new gold strings. I will post some current pictures when I get back home this weekend.
It comes with a hardshell case, and all original hardware except for the original pickups which I did not receive with it. It has DiMarzio Ultra Jazz pickups.
Let's start $700 shipped.
Later!

OH! it's black. My bad. I meant to include some pictures:

Like I said, it has gold hardware now. I don't have any more recent pictures with me.
Also, the little clippy doodad on the headstock is not included, as it did not come with the bass.

Are the blocks plastic or shell? Is the body ash or basswood?

Yup! Ash body, and I think the blocks are shell. They aren't plain white, anyway. They have swirley patterns.

I think it looks pretty cool. I had intended to get a black pickguard for it, but never got around to it.
Also, I have a trade pending.

Probably for the best you're getting rid of that bass. She's way too sexy for you.

Interesting to see yours has the proper 70s bridge pickup positioning. I have an identical one which has 60s pickup placement, like most of them had.
Not a fan of the gold hardware, but otherwise sexy as hell.

Re: Fender Japan Jazz '75 Model
I think this does have 60's pickup positioning. I believe that it just looks like the 70's position because of how far forward the aftermarket bridge comes. If you look at the distance between the pickup and the string saddles, you can see that it is the 60's position.Jeroen wrote:Interesting to see yours has the proper 70s bridge pickup positioning. Here is the 70's positioning, for comparison (I think):

Re: Fender Japan Jazz '75 Model
As I understand, 70's position means it's 1/4 lower than the 60's or modern Jbasses?
If so, as far as I remember checking mine it is not in the 70's position. I'll check again later!

Re: Fender Japan Jazz '75 Model
Those 75 RIs have 60s spacing. The BA bridge is making it look like it has 70s spacing.

Re: Fender Japan Jazz '75 Model
I thought Fender Japan did a later run with real 70's spacing. I swear I heard this. This bass above looks more like 70's spacing than 60's to me.... Regardless of the Badass bridge. Are my eyes playing tricks on me??
Re: Fender Japan Jazz '75 Model
Jim (gravesbass) is right... they did do a run of the 70's reissues with correct spacing.
They're rare, but I've seen them for sale.
This looks like one to me.

Measurements are 3.6" apart, center-to-center, for 60's spacing.
4" apart, center-to-center, for 70's spacing.
