It looks like a legit 3 bolt 70's block jazz bass put on a custom made body. The cream pickup looks like a DiMarzio P. All in all for the neck, pickups and badass bridge it could be a deal if you get it cheap and if the neck is straight. ($400 max). I predict some EBay hack is going to buy it and sell it for parts. In a month this very same neck will be listed for $900 on the bay.

It's from Detroit - I wonder if it did the rounds in some of the legendary garage rock bands of the area.

I'm gonna try and win this sucker. It's oozing with punk rock goodness.
Re: Fender 70's Classic Custom Cherry Red Burst Left Hand Ba
Rare indeed, but more than a 2X premium vs. righty? A period left Jazz or P sells for a % change (20%, 30%), not a multiple (2.2X), right?
Does that seem like the right spread for this?
Or is the seller trying to "re-make the market" off the one $2,600 comp?
As a collector of many things, indeed, one comp can move a market. But, sometimes and outlier is just and outlier.
What does this board think the "right" price is for this?
It it really worth what I paid for my last two '74 Jazz basses in Olympic and Trans white?
Back then, it certainly was not. Maybe 1/2 the price new?

I tapped out at 600.
Considering there is no way that's an original body, I really think someone just overpaid for a 70s Jazz neck.

Yeah I agree too. That body is a disaster in every way imaginable.

Nothing pisses me off more than seeing a perfectly good bass stripped of parts and parted out.... grrrrr
You know it when you see every part being sold separately...
This bass - no problem...
