Wiring a jazz bass from scratch - help needed

Post by sblueplanet »

Never done this before but I've borrowed a soldering iron and bought some cloth-covered wiring to have a go.
Is it straightforward removing the existing wiring from the pups and control plate? Is there a standard wiring diagram available for how to connect new wiring to the pups and onto control plate for both a V/V/T and/ or stack-knob configuration as I may look into getting one of these at a later date.

Any advice appreciated. :D

I typed "fender jazz bass wiring schematic" into Google, then clicked on "Images".... you'll see a bunch of diagrams, and here's one for you to start with.... http://buzzardsbass.com/electronics/wir ... ss-std.jpg

Took the plunge, rewired the bass today and used it at rehearsal this evening. All is good.
Thanks
