FENDER JAZZ BASS Japan E6 Series Sea Foam Green Sparkle

FENDER JAZZ BASS Japan E6 Series Sea Foam Green Sparkle
Yep….thats right I did. Sorry purists.
This is an E6 series MIJ Fender Jazz Bass - if you know, you know.
Great Necks and seriously great playing basses.
This started out as a sunburst mij, so I'm guessing that this one is ALDER. I also have an 86 in olympic white that is noticeably lighter i believe because it is basswood. I am not 100% on this but based on the many discussions here and on TB, I'm pretty sure that this is the case. Anyhow, it is a great bass that is now blinged out. It is all original parts except for the guard which is WD mint green. (the original guard was broken) All electronics are original.
The bass was refinished by MARTY BELL (again - he does all the G&L Sparkle finishes - great work!) in Sea Foam Sparkle Green. Matching headstock with 60s repro decal….
Comes with a hardshell case.
I think I am in the ballpark here - please let me know otherwise...….I know I am not going to recoup all my costs on this but it looks like most of the E and earlier series MIJs are going for around $700-$1000 minus the incredible paint job….so….

$925 shipped in CONUS.

It's from 1968. I bought it from Southpaw Guitars sight unseen over the phone in 1984 - it came this way! My first electric guitar thanks to teenage money saving LOL. I've dropped it a zillion times and from the cracks I can see there's sunburst underneath the green sparkle. I have no idea who did it or why. Over the course of the '80s I added those target stickers whenever I found one because I was really into The Jam.

It was only a few hundred bucks in 1984 - that's all I could have saved up at 16. Jazzmasters, sparkle finishes, and late 60s CBS-era Fenders were not popular at the time so it wasn't worth much when I bought it.

I want it, just gotta see if Grave bass decides to part with that black Euro. I don't think I can convince the wife to justify 3 basses in a two month span

Man, there have been so many great basses for sale lately... I'm starting to feel like a righty with all this availability! :-) At least others are jumping on these awesome basses so I don't have to refinance my house to buy them! TEMPTATION! Double :-)

I do, but I know the second I buy it, a Spector Euro will become available and I will kick myself.
