Rickenbacker 4003 - 2012 Mapleglo, MINT with case!

$2300, shipped and paid for via PayPal, lower 48.
Overseas, I'll get you a shipping quote and accept wire transfer or PPG only if your address is not PayPal confirmed.
Truth be told, I got ahead of myself and put too many toys on credit, so the stuff I'm not using regularly has got to go. I'm making payments just fine... I just want to pay stuff off sooner than later and a lot of these nice toys I have are collecting dust... AND interest, if you catch my drift.
All I want to do is make my money back on this bass, and $2300 will do it after shipping and PP fees.
As of right now, Mapleglo for lefties has been discontinued... and this is seriously about the best possible example of a lefty Mapleglo 4003 you will ever find. The guys at Wildwood hand selected this beast for me out of 6 possible basses... there were 3 of them who reviewed all of the basses and this was the clear winner. They couldn't have been more correct because it is absolutely 100% perfect. I currently have it set up LOWER than any other bass I own. My expectations are pretty high... and this bass absolutely kills. I will probably never find another 4003 that's as good as this one, but... I guess it's my loss.
It's 99% dead mint and so is the case... it has never left my house and has been kept in a humidity & climate controlled music room, inside of its case.
It also comes with one of those cool treble bezels... I removed the treble pickup cover and that will come with it too along with the original strings in case you ever need warranty service. Ric DEMANDS you use their strings on their bass, so that's why I kept them.
Let me know if you have any questions!

Here is an audio sample of a cheesy 70's cop-show-theme I wrote using this exact bass... I used the neck pickup only and the string mutes... KILLER tone!

They use two-piece necks now? My 2008 Mapleglo 4003 had a one-piece neck. I got rid of it when I crashed my car and needed money for a new one. It had a MASSIVELY thick and wide neck profile which I didn't like at all. I hear the new ones have much more comfortable necks. I'd love to own one again some day and this one is definitely a stunner, but I really can't afford spending that much money on a bass anytime soon. Good luck with your sale, should be alright! Even though they're back in production, they're still rare and highly desired by many

Hey Chris, maybe you, or somebody else more knowledgeable than me can fill me in. I love Ricks myself and have always wanted a CS model... Chris Squire being one of my idols. But I've always wondered about the neck heel. Since it's a neck through bass, why is there a need for such a big neck heel? Were I designing the bass I would have tried to make the neck heel follow the same lines as the back of the body from the lower horn to the upper horn.
Is it due to the truss rod placement?
Cheers,
Mark
P.S. Gorgeous Rick.

I have no idea for sure, to be honest... But my gut tells me that since the cutaways meet the neck where they do (literally at the end of the fingerboard, unlike pretty much any other bass design) it helps reinforce the strength of the neck right there.
I've never even noticed the heel to be honest... The upper register access of this bass is the best out of any bass I've ever owned. It fleshes out at about the 19th fret compared to a Fender, where the heel starts at about the 15th fret.

I took a quick picture to explain what I mean...
I'm EASILY fretting all four of the last frets on the E string... completely unobstructed by the lower horn and my thumb isn't even resting on the heel.
Try THAT on a Fender!
As I said earlier... the ridiculously low action, slightly shorter scale and easy access everywhere on the neck makes this one of the best basses I've ever played.

Thanks for the explanation Chris.

Makes perfect sense.
I wish I had my big commission cheque I'm waiting for but it's taking its sweet time to come to fruition. Oh well, timing is everything.
Good luck!

Did someone say CS model?

From the new Ric bass book:

Not to continue to derail my "For Sale" thread any more than what's already been done... but other than the color, the fingerboard wood, the fancy signature on the pickguard and the ridiculous price, there's no difference between the CS and a 4001v63, correct?
