:D

Does a P-Bass with a standard "P" neck sound exactly the same as a P-Bass with a Jazz neck? Thanks.

In my opinion it sound will be a little different.
but not much.
The sound comes from the body and pups.

given that no two basses of the same brand and model sound precisely identical ...

should you actually hear a difference, it would be difficult to determine if the sound was due to the neck mass difference, the body wood difference (characteristic difference range within the wood species), or a combination of all of the above

in the context of a live playing scenario, I doubt that anybody in the crowd (even a fellow bassist) would actually hear the difference within the context of the mix. I'm sure you could same the same for a contextual discernment within a studio mix

just my two Indian Rupees on the subject,
