That bass was on CL in Seattle for a while. Nice looker, but it's pretty heavy (according to the seller). I exchanged a few messages with the owner. He's a nice guy, but for the kind of bank he's asking for for that bass he wasn't very proactive about taking pics or providing detailed info.

Maybe it's me, but I have a hard time seeing 1975 and younger basses selling for over $2500.

Are you after an old P bass Matt, or just like this particular one?

Can't afford one now, but I like that one. He needs more pics posted, especially to be charging what he's charging for it. I was just generally lusting over it. :geek:

I think my 1975 is nicer and I paid a little over two grand several years ago. I don't know exactly what it weighs but it is by far the lightest bass I own, except for my Rob Allen. It's a 9 out of 10 in condition and sounds great. A true keeper here at camp psycho.

I do like the rosewood board on his though.

Wow, beautiful bass Chuck! It looks like the not beat-to-hell version of my '73.

Here's my '75, which I keep flip flopping on selling or not.

Sold with BIN for $2850! The times they are a changin'. I never thought it would go for that price.

Kinda figured that sale was too good to be true:

http://cgi.ebay.com/Vintage-1975-Fender ... 286.c0.m14

let's see if he has luck finding another buyer for it at that price.

How much older would you say it should be to warrant the asking price?

Apparently 1975, since someone popped the BIN on the bass again!

Nearly $3000 for a '75 seems pretty steep to me, but I guess the market has spoken. I'd expect early 70's for nearly $3k, and over that for a late 60's P. Looks like the vintage market is jumping faster than I'm paying attention to.

Huh? It's back up again. Maybe scammers keep popping his BIN?
