That poor bass has been bought and returned quite a few times, for what I can tell. I bought it once for $1500, after it had been originally listed for $2000+.

It's a sweet bass, but the one I tried has the frets considerably protuding from the board sides, Rondo-music style. And when I compared it head-to-head with my resident Rogue copy, the Rogue sounded a lot fuller.

Don't know if it's the same bass, though. But I see it listed, then out of stock, then listed again, then out of stock. . . and the price always coming down. There were only 50 of those built, so I don't think that MF had a whole lot of them. . .

In any case, it is a sweet and beaufiful bass, that's for sure, minus the fret ends, which can be easily polished by a tech.

Only 50 were made of these lefty Clubs? I had no idea. Maybe it will be an investment then? I hope it arrives in good shape, but if the fret ends are the only issue then it's no big deal because I have a friend who will charge me next to nothing to clean that up. By the way, where did you get the info about there only being 50 built? I'm curious about this. Thanks!

FYI, Musicians Friend still has these in stock (or maybe just 1?). I e-mailed them to see if they would match Music123's price and they said they couldn't.

That's funny. Music123 and MF are the same thing - same warehouse. They just do their darnest to have people think they are not the same thing so they can play sales games and seem like they are competing with each other.

Funny....I emailed them both a few months ago asking if they were the same company now......Music123 fessed up, but MF denied it LOL

I try to always order thru local guys, but as we all know very well.......not easy to get lefty gear sometimes

Well I was mostly depressed about the possibility that this Hof' could be a lemon as described above, and I hope it's not the one that has been yo-yo'd back and forth so much

The bass is stunning, and no flaws to be found. Frets are perfect, nitro finish is thin and gorgeous, and goddamn it smells good

Furthermore, not a sign anywhere that this thing has been shipped and returned multiple times, so I am positive this is not the above described bad example. It even makes me wish I still had my 500/1 as well. Can't wait to plug it up and I will let you guys know what's up with the sound.
