Ampeg SVT 2 v svt 2 PRO?

im looking at either an old ampeg SVT 2, or a newer SVT 2 pro? Whats the differance? Havent played thru a old 2. I need grit, grind and balls!

The 2 pro is quite different from the 2. Save the graphic eq, the 2 is more akin to vintage SVT's or the current SVT VR than the 2 pro.

14 years ago when I began searching for my first SVT I came across a circa 1990 SVTII "Premiere Edition" 300 watt rack-mounted head. Although I was unable to test it thru an 8x10 it was very nice.
No need for me to say more because I was very inexperienced then with svt tone and it was a long time ago. Nonetheless, I passed as I was immaturely hung up on a "new" one. So I proceeded to buy a 1997 SVT2 PRO.
That was/is a very nice amplifier.
In hindsight I would have been just as happy with the older one.
