Lefty Oddness....and a pink sock

Post by NoXX »

I had to post this, as I was looking for some fun bass vids online, and stumbled across this gem. I really do not know where to start. Perhaps it's no wonder people think we lefties are odd...

In the topsy-turvy world of heavy rock, having a good solid piece of wood in your hand is often useful...

I'm always impressed when I see a lefty bassist slap on a bass strung righty, especially because I have no ability to do it on a lefthanded strung bass! I wonder if the sock is his personal version of a scrunchy.....

The cat can play!!!! I watched a couple of his other clips. I wonder if the sock is a kind of 'anti-endorsement' thing, which I've seen a lot of keys players do by putting black gaff over the maker's name on their keyboards? Maybe just to generate the quirk factor, whatever, but the dude can play, upside down n all.

I thought the same things too; he can certainly play, and I thought maybe he was trying to hide the bass's identity, although from some of the videos I saw, the sock was mainly on his "ready-made" bass. It's certainly a recognizable "gimmick" though, as I've never seen anyone else use a sock....

He most certainly can play!

Me, I'm thinking the sock and the various getups are just a schtick. You gotta admit that all those neon colors draw some attention.
