Came across this site talking about Dean's Entwistle bass models. Not sure about the spider webs, but the bass looks nice, along with two Hybrid models.

When I saw the hybrid models I thought that a lot of people will buy these and slap a Fender neck on them to make them more "authentic", which could be to Dean's advantage, it'll incline some sales I'm sure.

Damn! Wish I'd known about this sooner, I totally ignored the Dean booth as their gear is usually not on my radar.

Will this lead to a similar situation between Dean and Alembic which we saw earlier with Warwick and Status? This would eventually lead to Status being forced to drop the Buzzard from their line, because the Warwick was suddenly "the original", after not being built for many years

did entwistle ever play deans? i mean i know he most likely owned a couple but did they ever actually make some basses just for him? i know he had statuses, alembics, warwicks,a couple of fenders, gibsons ,rickeys,d.cs, even ibanez, but i never ever heard of him using a dean.

Did the Entwistle estate have some massive bills to pay and need to have a way to capitalize on The Ox's name, and Dean stepped up with some cash for the right to use that name?

It's too bad they nobody stepped up to the plate to make these when John was alive. I guess he could only endorse one thing at time whereas once your dead you can have unlimited "tributes".
