Up for sale is my USA made G&L JB2 which has Nordstrand NJ4 pickups installed (professionally). I custom ordered this bass about 1 1/2 years ago from Greg at Rocket Music with these specs:
Ash body with Clear Forest Green finish (really pretty color)
Maple fretboard
#6 neck (1 1/2" nut and 7.5" radius)
I have the original pickups which I will ship with the bass. It has the original plastic hardshell case. The bass is in near mint condition - I can't find a mark on it. It is average weight - 9 lbs approx by the bathroom scale method.
Reason for sale - I might be relocating due to work so I need to thin out my collection.
This bass sounds and plays great - nice vintage jazz tone from the Nordstrand pickups.
G&Ls don't have great resale I know so I am trying to price realistically:
$650 plus shipping (I live near Albany NY USA). I am not opposed to international shipping but I have never done it so you will have to explain to me how to do it. I usually use UPS when shipping within the US so I would prefer to do that but I could be persuaded to use someone else. New the bass was $1250. Quality is first rate!

What difference did the Nordstrands make to the sound?

The Nordstands have a sweeter sound; the stock pickups were to harsh and clangy to me. It sounded like the stock ones had too much high end. the Nordstrands have a more even balance between low, mid and high, they have nice low end but still snappy on the top end.

I'm betting G&L build quality plus Nordy pickups adds up to be one mean bass.

Is it possible to purchase just a g&l lefty neck that fits and is fretless?

Not sure about that, from what I've read at the bassesbyleo forum the G&L company will sometimes make replacement necks but you have to send them the bass and it takes a while, and think it's pricy. Could be that you could get a replacement neck but I am not sure what neck would fit. Sorry.

You could defret the neck on this or have a fretless board put on it for cheaper than getting a replacement from G+L.

Wish I had a buyer for my Hohner that's listed on here. I'd buy it. Are you sure you dont want to consider a trade? It's a lefty 5 string. And since it's headless it takes up a lot less room.

would you trade for an Ibanez 300dxl + cash? The Ibanez is actually a pretty sweet bass, very fast neck

also, i'd buy this for $500, if i didn't just pay 1,100 for my carvin.
