1982 Hamer Cruise Bass

These don't come along too often

Results: The finish was ‘textured rock’ and worked great - if your left forearm needed serious dermabrasion. Apparently the bass had not been touched in years as evidenced by the dust and grime. No evidence of inked serial number on back of neck but pots dated to early 1982. So after sanding off the ‘textured rock’ it appears the original finish was baby blue (NOT Carolina Blue?!? I live outside Chapel Hill) and revealed the pickguard mounting holes. Refinished with Stewart-MacDonald cherry mahogany and multiple lacquer clear coats. Imaged a right handed pickguard, reversed, scaled to fit, and cut a three-ply. Added left handed ‘Studio’ truss cover and Viola! – after 26 years of searching I have a left handed Cruisebass.
