I have a lefty EGC aluminum bass for sale. These are very cool instruments. I got this bass about a year ago, but it is barely played. Unfortunately I took ill in the spring and the bills that built while I was in the hospital are catching up with me, so this has to go.

Last I heard the wait time for a new EGC instrument was over 9 months, and new these basses sell for $2300, but the powder coated body is an upcharge on these. You can read more about these basses here:

I saw Shellac last week and I just love the sound of these basses! Of course, Bob's amp has also a lot to do with his sound.

Shellac are great live. Where did you see them?

Get yourself a Tronographic Rusty Box pedal, a good poweramp and a Mesa Boogie EV loaded Diesel 2x15 (or pair of 1x15) and you'll be good to go for getting the Shellac bass tone.

Brooklyn. Despite being a fan for over a decade, it was only my second time seeing them. They never tour! Last time they played around here was 4 years ago (went to that show as well).

I heard great things about the Rusty Box. The amp is the hard part. I travel by subway, so my gear is alway the house amp or my 1x12".

I've only gotten to see Shellac once. You're right, they rarely do tour.

I have a Rusty Box and it's a great sounding pedal. Bob Weston was saying that he took the Rusty Box to Europe with him and used it with a rented Ampeg SVT4 and 8x10 and he still got his sound from just the bass and pedal into a different amp rig, so don't sweat the amp too much if that's the sound you're after.

I only saw him use a tuner pedal, which was near the amp. Must have been out of the way, in an on-position all night.

He actually only uses the Rusty Box when he can't use his own amp rig. The Rusty Box is a clone of the preamp in the Traynor TS50B he normally uses (that's what's in the giant silver box, a TS50B and a poweramp).
