G&L Tribute Fallout Bass- Worth a Shite?

Has anyone here played one of these short scale G&L’s?

I ordered one from Sweetwater but returned it because the neck was garbage. Had a ski jump and all sorts of shit going on (55 pt inspection my ass).

I obviously got a dud but I’m wondering if it’s a feature, not a bug. Trying to decide if I wanna give it another try.

I've had one and I liked it a lot. Played fine, sounded great I wasn't a big fan of the satin finish on the neck otherwise I was happy with it. Never noticed anything wrong with it other than some orange peel on the finish that I polished away.

Well Paulo, you’ve played/owned every lefty model in existence, so I should’ve known.

I went ahead and ordered a demo model at sweetwater just now. If this one sucks too, I’ll have my answer. Thanks man!

Tried a second one. To answer the thread title succinctly:

“No.”

To be real though, if it had a healthy neck, it would be killer. I’m just sick of paying for fret dressings and such.

I bought an L-2000 tribute on their website- got it at a killer price. It's a gorgeous bass- but something was not right about it. There was nothing glaringly obvious wrong with the neck itself, but many spots on the neck seemed to be dead.. and not speaking correctly. I discovered that the frets were not actually seated properly in the slots! I'm a Luthier- so, it went to the workbench, some fret reseating, and glue down, then, a level recrown and polish did the trick.
I'd suspect it may be a common issue that goes unseen to non tech people.. and likely these Indonesian made necks are all suspect. Many import basses with major brands on them have manufacturing issues. Overall, these Indonesian basses are great. I own a Sire V7 that is a great bass. But, that bass, too, had some issues.
