So I may have missed this at the start of the year, or just not paid it much attention, but apparently there's a Gene and Gibson mash-up in the works:

I clearly didn't pay much attention at the time, until trying to catch up on my Bass Player magazine reading, when I came across an article with Gene in the April 2021 issue and he mentioned these basses, and said "....we are doing left-handed versions too, because they are underserved. People like Paul McCartney and Jimi Hendrix had to play right-handed versions upside down, so we're going to do legitimate left-handed versions".

Very cool!

Gene also gives some lefty love in this article:

No clear timing yet it seems, apart from "by the end of the year".... also not clear what the lefty options might be for the proposed Epiphone versions..

It does not matter if you love or hate Kiss but they always put themselves in the shoes of their fans.

When they started they said they wanted to be the rock band they always wanted to see and good to see Gene say that if were making a bass it's not about me but the players so make a left handed model.

I’d definitely do a lefty Epiphone in one of these, as long as there’s no Gene-related branding on it whatsoever.

Id have both of these. Hopefully they're available from gibson and epi. I really dont know what people complain about, both my 2013 and 2018 thunderbirds are awsome.
