G2: Gene Simmons and Gibson Colab

So I may have missed this at the start of the year, or just not paid it much attention, but apparently there's a Gene and Gibson mash-up in the works:

I clearly didn't pay much attention at the time, until trying to catch up on my Bass Player magazine reading, when I came across an article with Gene in the April 2021 issue and he mentioned these basses, and said "....we are doing left-handed versions too, because they are underserved. People like Paul McCartney and Jimi Hendrix had to play right-handed versions upside down, so we're going to do legitimate left-handed versions".
Very cool!
Gene also gives some lefty love in this article:

No clear timing yet it seems, apart from "by the end of the year".... also not clear what the lefty options might be for the proposed Epiphone versions..
