Lakland Skylines - Don't even think about it...

I sent an E-mail the Brian Gringrich from Lalkand asking whether they planned to release any Left-handed Skyline Basses.
I copy/paste his response:

"unfortunately there are no plans to offer skylines in a lh version. however, we do offer us models in lh versions at no extra charge".

Yes, unfortunately... Otherwise I might well have bought a Darryl Jones instead of waiting for a MIJ Fender '75 Jazz reissue to come by. I think they're incredibly attractive basses. I love the Decade too, from what I've seen and heard...

We tried unsuccessfully a couple times in the past to get Lakland to do a run of Skyline lefties. They need 25 orders to do a lefty Skyline run, and trying to get 25 lefty guys to agree on the model and get 25 orders is a lot tougher than it seems.

Lakland is definately unfriendly to lefties.

Oh sure you can get a US model lefty, of course that's $3-4000 dollars!

Also a while back I saw a comment from Dan Lakin concerning an inqiry for a lefty version of their hollowbody bass (can't remember what it's called), his response was " Turn it upside down"! Not only is that insulting, but for an instrument that costs as much as that one does......words fail

Suffice to say Lakland will never be getting any of my money!

I've known Danny for many years and doubtless he meant that remark to be humorous. Like most other manufacturer's, if there was a buck in it for Lakland, he'd be making them
