I can't get over how good a job you've done with this forum Rod. It is an amazing wealth of information. I really hope everyone here (and from other boards) is paying attention to the BP+B forum!

thanks Andrew - it's been a load of fun getting this together (and a welcome relief from the load of pressure I currently have going on at my day job)

I am also looking forward to when other users start posting their mod/repair threads as well. I'm definitely not wanting this to be a place where anyone feels intimidated about posting something that they have questions on ... even if it is something as simple as a question about replacing the string retainer on a Fender headstock

all the best,

R

I know to replace the string retainer on a headstock you start with a band saw, power sander, a jar of epoxy and graphite dust, but where do you go from there...? :D

so you're going to start a new thread on this and document your steps - cool! we can then give you tons of advice after you've completed your bandsawing efforts ... advice on how to attach a cut-off headstock, that is

hey - when you're all done you'll be qualified to build you own "Jaco's bass of doom" ;)

all the best,

R

But instead of "Jaco's Bass of doom" it'll be "Andrew's doomed bass".

LOL, yes, I think the hospital would be the next step in that plan for me.

I think ceruse is correct for French or English. F Bass uses ceruse finishes.
