Yup, it's fabulous. The pics do nothing to show off the 3-dimentionality of the quilt. Kinda looks like ocean waves.rcubed wrote:I'm not a huge maple top fan but that looks great!

Did you happen to try out the Hagstrom? I'm a big fan of this trend to this look/type of pickup/placement.[/quote]Agent00Soul wrote:
I think that's a copy of a Fraumus bass from the 60s. If they are made by the same company as the budget Hofners it should be an excellent bass for the money, although the pickups can be noisy. Still, as long as they are cheap (which was the whole point of the originals including old Hofners) I am a big fan of this style of instrument too. Thanks for posting all the photos guys!andrew wrote:Here's a righty bass from a company I hadn't heard of before. The company is Old Kraftsman Guitars (http://www.oldkraftsman.com). I asked and they said they'll make both the single and doublecut bass in a lefty version. I suspect these are coming out of the same factory making the budget Hofer stuff. $499 list on both basses. Not bad.

He didn't say. His website is pretty minimal right now too. Seemed like a nice guy though, might be worth emailing him to see what he'd do.pjmuck wrote:Hey, I like that!I wonder if he requires a minimum number of lefty orders before he'll do them.
Shoulda waited until the booth-babes returned. One in particular liked strutting her stuff for the cameras. Something told me they borrowed her from another industry.andrew wrote:Hallmark Guitars. No lefty content, but, hey, Batmobile.
FWIW, I used to have a righty 63 T-Bird. Same body config, but the headstock was reversed. I found that combination to be really comfortable to play. The knobs never got in the way. All things being equal, I think the same would apply to this bass if mike would make a reversed headstock.andrew wrote:Lull:
Ok, the secret is out. I should have in in about 2 weeks.Rodent wrote:not only does Randy have killer woodworking skills, he's also a very cool person to talk bass with
great that a couple of you got to check this out before the show ended. did any of you end up placing a deposit on it?
all the best,

As far as I know Lakland only offers lefties in their U.S. models, not their Skyline models.andrew wrote:Lakland booth. No lefties (booo!), but we know they offer lefty versions of most of their basses.
