Okay, folks, I'm back from the seller's after trying this bass out first-hand. The bass is located at Valley Road Guitars in Montclair, which I had never been to before.

This is a first for me, but let me go on record as saying, what a bunch of jackasses these guys are.

I sent them an email question yesterday:

Dear vrg2006,

Hello, I was recently in contact with a friend who had an opportunity to inspect this bass first-hand at your store. He noted a few points that he believes may not be totally original or exactly as described in your listing. I would be interested in making you a fair cash offer for the bass, as I will be traveling during this auction. I'll be happy to give you a call to discuss. If interested, let me know ASAP, thanks very much.

And I get not 1, but 2 email responses to my question:

Response #1 (before anybody bid on it):

We believe the bass to be original and properly represented in the auction. Keep in mind we do this sort of thing for a living. If you have concerns about the bass you should address them yourself. I do have a nice American Standard Jazz bass in white that might be in your price range. Thank You, Neal

This is how they're running a business? If I lived anywhere near this place I would be down there having a face to face conversation with them....
Shouldn't have come as a total surprise though, given this negative comment in their Ebay feedback rating:

If they sent you that email correspondence via Ebay - as opposed to your private email accounts - I'm pretty sure you can report them to Ebay.

Either way, I would be livid if I got an email like that. I'm furious already and I don't even know you LOL. I HATE unprovoked rude !@#$ like that!!!
