I played this a bit before taking images and can say with certainty beyond absolute certainty - this is THE best sounding, most sonically versitile bass I have ever built. Period. Bar none. End of story. I can retire from building basses now, thank you
The lighting and flash glare are really bugging me. If you see the previous post with images of the neck mounting ferrules - that's the real color this bass finish is

Hopefully I'll get a day with nice weather before the client picks this one up this coming weekend. I can only hope that the new owner will eventually send me a sound clip or two so you can hear just how incredible this bass truly is
all the best,
R

Okay, I give up. Where on earth did you find a 5 pole SCPB 5 string pickup?

I second that question. Very cool

I have these custom made for me. they are as close to the original pickups as can physically be done in a 5-string, and they sound near identical to the original '54 version
in the case of this bass I also had the stacked bridge pickup custom wound to pair with the SCPB in the neck
customers have noted that they are able to go unnoticed as toting a 5-string along until they venture down to a C# (or lower) - this usually turns a couple bassists' heads
all the best,
R

Just a heads-up ... rumor is that this bass may be coming up for sale. The owner in the Vancouver, BC area is thinning his herd due to limited dorm space.
I encouraged him to list it here when he's ready, but should anybody be interested before then - if you drop me your contact email I'll share this with him so he can reach out to you. I'm not involved in the sale, just helping a customer out
all the best,
