The Longbow is an incredibly funny instrument. It is very limiting to only have an E and A string, but also very challenging. I've gigged with it, I've used it in some of our songs where I don't need a wide range and where I can stick within the first octave and it holds up very well.
The new ones are made of beautiful figured maple, with a bone nut, recessed ABM Mueller monorail bridge parts and two tiny stacked humbuckers, one for each string, that are custom made for the Longbow. The tuners aren't branded, but they work well and tuning stability is good. The maple is finished in a very smooth tung oil, and all edges are slightly curved, so there are no sharp corners.

The sound, to my ear, is somewhere between a Precision and an upright. It sounds very big and whoolly, but when plucked close to the bridge there's actually plenty of definition. They're great fun to play.

About the ATK's: this colour is called Transparent Black, but indeed it's much closer to a dark walnutlike brown. This is actually the colour I've come across most often on lefty ATK's on this side of the pond. Once in a while I see one in Amber come by, or an all-black Korean ATK300 lefty, but most are finished in this transparent black finish.
The lefty MIJ ATK's were discontinued in the late '90's I believe. After that, there have been some Korean models and a MIJ Prestige ATK1300 and 1305, but none of these were made lefthanded AFAIK. Shortly thereafter, the ATK series were discontinued altogether. It wasn't until 2006 or 2007 when they were reintroduced.

If it wasn't for that rediculous fingerboard inlay, I would actually have liked that Paul Gray signature ATK (even though I feel a proper ATK should have a rosewood fingerboard). There's also a beautiful transparent Burgundy Wine finish that looks very good on it:

Hi, recently found this form when I googled lefty bass. I’m new to bass, at age 52. In September I found a used lefty Washburn xb120 at a local shop. Also set me up with a teacher. I’ve been having fun with it since.

Nice site, especially when looking at basses for sale they’re all lefties. Not in the market for anything new yet, but it’s nice to look.

Hey Andrew, I wanted to play bass a long time ago, just never happened. This summer I saw a lefty bass at a local flea market. It was very cheap, don't remember the price. It got me thinking about it again. Funny I didn't even really look at it, because I wouldn't know if it was in good shape or not.

A local shop that deals with used equipment had the Washburn, needed some work. A few days later it was mine. Bought an amp from my nephew a '96 basic 112. Months later I'm still enjoying them.

A six string Rikkers Bodyline made in Groningen, The Netherlands, a '94 7ender JB62US.

Guitars:

2 shaman drums. One of these is more a wall ornament.
