iome, online currency converter says that's approx. $263 for price and bank fees. If that's accurate I may also get a Sonic blue 2 P.U. along with the Trans. Red 2 P.U., depending on the U.S. shipping...can you get a cost for two packed/sent together? I remember reading somewhere some right handers having them sent that way before.

count me in for a 2PU in white, shipping to Europe (France).

The price is 198€ (Vat included) + 10€ bank fees + Shipping (40€ in Europe. I don't have the shipping price for U.S. yet).
Seems ok to me, but if we could all have a clear (and final ?) confirmation from the maker, or its representant, by mail on on the forum, that could be a good think.

I don't want to make things worse for all of us who have been patiently waiting and wondering when this thing is ever going to pan out, but a thread has popped up on Talkbass concerning some really amazing mods (and a very helpful review) of a couple of Bachbirds:

http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showthread.php?t=668027

It's got me salivating, and now I've got some better ideas with what to do with my Bird if it should ever be mine!

So does that mean we no longer have to do this whole unwieldy excruciatingly-slow group thing any more?

I'm afraid not, because the PB-60 is this little beast here:

Too bad about the reversed control plate. Otherwise that's one fine looking instrument :)

Weird, couldn't they have just flipped the plate before they screwed it on? It's just a flat piece of metal.

No. There have been numerous discussions about the difficulty in finding lefty control plates for '51-'56 Fender Precision/Tele style basses, and Rod would be the expert at this point. They are very difficult (and expensive, as Rod will attest) to source, and flipping a righty doesn't offer a simple solution because you'd need to chrome the underside of the plate and also the drilled screw holes are not flush with the surface, they're sunken in on the righty side. (What's the proper term? Doweled?).

Ahh forgive my ignorance on the matter. I think the term is 'countersunk'.

I have to give up, unplanned events... I need to cut all my spendings, so bass gear improvement will be delayed for later. Sorry to tell you that you have to count me out.
