I dressed up my Musicmaster

Post by Matt R. »

I put a new pickguard on my Musicmaster. Here it is with the original (I've posted it here before):

And here it is with a new mint green pickguard from Jeannie Pickguards:

I really like how it looks now. Black on black is just too bland for this bass for some reason. But the new guard fits perfectly, and the turnaround from Jeannie was waaay faster than WD and way cheaper too. I ordered it last Thursday and it showed up on Monday.
What do you guys think of the look? I know it looks white in the pic, but it's definitely mint green. 8-)

I thought so too. The only drag is that the new guard is all pretty and shiny and the rest of the bass is beat to hell.

Matt, did you send them your original pickguard for copying?

No, it's a stock template. The thumbrest holes were even pre-drilled. When I ordered from WD they would always get those holes lined up wrong (hell, the screw holes are usually a little off too), so I always ask to omit them. I forgot to say that when I ordered this one, but they are perfect.

Jeannie Pickguards. Was mentioned in the first post. They even got the thumbrest holes right.
