My EGC Aluminum Bass
My EGC Aluminum Bass
Here's a bass I got a few months back that took me a bit to get pics of. This is a pretty cool bass. I custom ordered. It took 9 months to get. This is great from getting your Shellac on, or it rips for playing aggressive rock/metal too.

Re: My EGC Aluminum Bass
Awesome bass. Good to know they will make a lefty. I've been drooling over their instruments for awhile now.
Re: My EGC Aluminum Bass
Nice one! Question: don't you miss the wood-feeling when you play it?
Re: My EGC Aluminum Bass
That's my question as well. I know with the older Kramer Aluminums you could get frostbite if you touched the neck in cold temperatures, and it wouldn't play in tune either. Are these necks temperamental to temperature changes too?wombat wrote:Nice one! Question: don't you miss the wood-feeling when you play it?

I expected it to feel more foreign to play but after a minute you forget it's made of metal. Probably like playing a graphite neck bass.pjmuck wrote:That's my question as well. It does get colder to the touch when you first pick it up if the room is cold, but it doesn't get affected by temperature any more than wood neck instruments. I know the Kramers were infamous for being prone to temperature change, but that's something EGC make a point to mention that theirs differ from the old ones on.
The body is also aluminum, and hollow, so it's pretty loud unplugged too.

No upcharge for lefty either. They're really taking off right now though, if you want one the wait time is getting longer and longer.rcubed wrote:Awesome bass. Good to know they will make a lefty. I've been drooling over their instruments for awhile now.
