1969 Fender with no Fender Logo

Post by bobjones2260 »

Friends, what are your thoughts on this, I never seen a Fender Bass without the Logo on the Headstock. I believe the seller is legit but here is what they say

"Fender didn't print special decals for lefty instruments, and after they transitioned to the larger "block logo" decals the decals didn't fit on lefty headstocks so sometimes they just say "Fender" and sometimes they just say the model name."

I think their explanation is bogus. EVERY Fender lefty I've seen from that period had the Fender logo only, not the model name only. What company would just put a model name and leave their brand off an instrument?

For further investigation, I would request complete pix: neck heel, pots, etc. otherwise, I'm going to assume it's either a Fender bass body with an aftermarket neck or a Fender copy.

Maybe just post -this period, I bought a brand new black Precision bass in 1973. The only thing on the front of the headstock was the word FENDER, like it was literally sectioned out of a righty decal. No model name at all.
