That's not an ASAT Classic but an ASAT Special (since it has the large MFD pickups). Age seems about right, it already has a 4-bolt neck plate but still has the bi-cut neck and single-action (compression) truss rod, which you can tell from the bullet-type adjustment nut. The 4-bolt necks were introduced in 1997, and the bi-cut neck was discontinued in 2006.

I love these, I have one that's roughly the same age (2001) but solid, and it's my favourite guitar. I can't recommend these enough, those MFD pickups are awesome and can do classic, glassy Fender goodness but they can also really scream!

Thanks for the clarification! I had a hard time finding the specific model foe this one and went with what I thought I saw in some other listing. Maybe I misunderstood or they were also wrong...lol
