interesting how they mix-and-match the neck washers and screws on the back side... I wonder if that's standard...

I like it. I imagine that it's aimed at funk players. Bootsy popularized the assoxiation between crazy looking basses and funky musicians. Freekbass and MonoNeon have continued the tradition.

Sandberg has built several "puzzle basses" too that I really LOVE. The woodwork on these is amazing, the fit is near perfect.
