1985 Ibanez Roadstar II Bass RB650 Left Handed
Re: 1985 Ibanez Roadstar II Bass RB650 Left Handed
Well that's a more reasonable price than the other one that's been listed on Reverb for months. Wish it was white though. Still looking for a white one.

What if you were to buy it for example, and paint it white? It's an Ibanez - I'm thinking that a color change wouldn't ultimately effect the "Classic resale value"... would it? It would just be more money our of your pocket for a new spray job... unless you're handy with a paint gun...pjmuck wrote:Well that's a more reasonable price than the other one that's been listed on Reverb for months. Is that a crack in the headstock? Check out the pic that shows the back of it.

Hard to say. It looks like wood grain to me.Matt R. wrote:Is that a crack in the headstock? Check out the pic that shows the back of it.

Hard to tell if its a crack, or wood grain... even when the picture is blown up to full....

and even harder to tell from the picture... if the close-up picture showed just an inch or so more of the heel, it might make it easier to decide...

A buddy got one around that time, and its a fantastic bass and versatile. It's got a rich depth and raspy highs--whatever you need.
I almost want to snag one. I never knew they made lefties of it.

I see it sold- and @ $450 well worth every penny. Imho if these basses weren’t “Ibanez” they would easily command twice that price relative to their actual quality and as 35+ year old vintage instruments. According to my post back in 2015, I’ve been raving about these basses here since 2009
(lol)… I even tackled he refinish question:

The RB650 still remains my all time favorite Precision- style bass. Hopefully someone here picked it up!

Bassist in one of my cover bands plays one all the time (a righty, of course), so I can concur they sound awesome.Carmine wrote:I see it sold- and @ $450 well worth every penny. Well, here's your "white one"... although just a tad high at $950 (pjmuck wrote:Well that's a more reasonable price than the other one that's been listed on Reverb for months. Wish it was white though. Still looking for a white one.

Yeah, I'm aware of this one. I posted a link to it earlier. I won't lose any sleep if I don't buy it for that price. I think that's just wood grain/rosewood discoloration under the D string.fivebass52 wrote:Well, here's your "white one"... although just a tad high at $950 (pjmuck wrote:Well that's a more reasonable price than the other one that's been listed on Reverb for months. I know it was, and was just "funnin"... but that fingerboard looks awfully dried out...
