Yamaha TRB4 or 5

Post by Winkster1 »

Wanting to potentially buy Yamaha TRB4 or 5 from 1994-1998 (I think that is the correct timeframe). The models with the 34 inch scale and 19mm string spacing. Thanks!

I think only the TRB5 II was made left handed. This is only the 35" scale 5-string version. When the Japanese TRB's were discontinued, for a while there was the Taiwanese-made TRB1005, recognizable by the quilted maple veneer and the return of the "slap cut" of the first TRB's. Yamaha currently builds the TRB1005 in Indonesia, but currently no lefties.

Gotcha. I've owned the TRBII, was a really nice bass, but was hopeful that there might be a TRB out there somewhere. Oh well, guess not. Thanks for the info!
