Can you give some info on the black Jazz on the sofa. Looks like it has a reverse neck or headstock.

I originally bought that Jazz neck to go on my Precision, my fave bass at that time. But then, I put together that black Strat from parts, and I HAd to have a matching Jazz. So I ordered a black body--both the righty neck and the body are Fender AmPros. I installed side dots on the neck, stuck it all together and.....

Voilà: magic. That bass has become my absolute favorite to play. It feels like it's a part of my body, and it has totally changed the physical way that I play bass. It even helped to unlock theory for me--45 years I've played, and this is fantastic. I love all of my basses, but this one is THE one. The stock pups sound grea--mellow when needed; balls out crazy wild when called for.

Yeah, I'd feel sheepish about playing it live, cos I ain't Gilmour. The guitar has the Duncans somewhat equal to DG's pups. It doesn't sound like Gilmour cos .... But it sounds great, and it is my number 1. I've thought hard about selling my AmStd Sunburst Strat, and probably will at some point. I've never played a better sounding Strat than mine--for what I play.

By the way, I got the same strap Gilmour has used for a while now, with the criss cross leather bits.

It's like playing with Matchbox car--their Bentley can't hope to equal the real thing or the real experience, but it's an awful lot of fun to play with Matchboox cars.. (disclaimer, my son is a marketing manager in the Matchbox Cars division of Mattel.)
