The Ibby has landed!
The Ibby has landed!
Came from Taniguchi this morning, US$1230 to my door. I'll give a sound/playability appraisal in the next day or so. Tried but couldn't upload any pix due to 512kb limit & not sure how to make them that small on Mac but you know what it looks like... Taniguchi is now sold out, they only had 2 & the factory in Indonesia is under covid restrictions they said so could be a long wait for the next influx of models....sorry all...

Preview should have a resize option under the Tools menu. That's what I use when I'm on desktop.
Re: The Ibby has landed! Follow up
Thanks for that, but didn't work & tried various workarounds....
Unfortunately, before I adjusted the string spacing at the bridge to 17mm, I went to flatten out the neck a tad more but the supplied truss rod hex/Allen key didn't alter the neck action & when I took a closer look, the nut was burred/stripped so back to Tokyo Taniguchi from Kyoto & then who knows how long...
They have thus far been very good with customer service so time will tell but this is Japan so no angst anticipated.
I really enjoyed the sounds I could get out of it and the playability & the fanned frets don't take long at all to get used to.
Assuming the buyer of the other one from Taniguchi is from this forum, watch out for the truss rod end as mine seemed to be made out of type of metal you get with a Chinese made $1 set of screw drivers...

Yeah..2 others on talkbass EHB thread mentioned the same problem so Ibanez need to address it quick smart. Disappointing on a new ¥140,000 bass, not an alembic but still..updates when I get one on this; first world problem I admit but….
