Warmoth Dinky P (MM+J)

Post by lsimy »

This is a very cool Warmoth left-handed 4 string bass in good condition. It was refinished from a stain to a gloss black by Marty Bell and has some chips and nicks but is in overall really good shape.

Here are the details:
- Warmoth Dinky-P 4 string lefty body
- Warmoth 4 string jazz width neck (maple, rosewood)
- Gotoh 707 chrome tuners
- Gotoh 201 bass bridge with brass saddles
- Wilkinson MM and J pickups wired passive
- Vol-vol-tone passive wiring
- Dunlop Straploks

It's probably about 5-6 years old now and was played but frets and all parts are in excellent working shape. Again the body has a chip and some nicks as does the neck in one spot (upper not lower) but super playable and a workhorse.
Quite a few great parts alone at this price.

$550 + 35 shipping

CONUS Shipping. Thanks for looking guys.

Interesting neck, what's up with the dot marker on the 21st position without a 21st fret? :)
Looks cool and very comfortable. GLWTS!

Good catch and thank you for reminding me !!

There was fretboard overhang on that neck and with the way Warmoth does it, when it is played aggressively or slapped, it has a really "ping-y", thin sound when the strings hit that last fret so I had it professionally removed. Now it has a more normal sound with more wood under the fretboard at the end. The marker still remains there. It was actually our own Joe and Eli at Prana who removed it and did an outstanding job. They also added side markers on the lefty side of the neck as this was a righty from Warmoth. Warmoth slotted a left-handed nut before shipping.

Thanks again for the reminder and I apologize for missing that info !

Cool, and interesting to read this is actually a righty neck. I think this headstock looks better on a lefty, with the long side at the bottom :)
