Hi guys,
I'm getting into some woodworking at home and have some really nice small bits of flame maple to play around with. So here's my first attempt at a replacement truss rod cover for my SS1 to match the body. Not perfect and I'm planning on taking another stab at it as I'm not 100% happy with the evenness of my bevel or the fit against the nut. Also, I'd like the flame to be at the same angle as the body. Still, making progress.
Feedback welcome.
Cheers all.

I think that's going to be a good look once you get the right match. It doesn't look half bad now.

Good idea. Will be a nice touch when it's done!

How about making the flame go 90-degrees to the body? In other words, the flame is aimed straight-up... could be cool...

First of all 1000% better than anything I would be able to make! I agree I like the flame going up, fully understanding the the body is going across but since your new and learning make one of each and try it out.
