Weird. The serial comes up as ‘72 (maybe an older neck plate), listed as a ‘74, but a 3-bolt like a ‘75.
I’m thinking a transitional period ‘74. Pretty cool!

Yeah Matt, probably a transition 74. Fender switched to 3 bolt necks and headstock “bullet” adjustors in 74. I have a 73 that looks pretty much identical to this one except for the neck plate and the bullet. I checked the serial numbers on mine and the neck stamp is late 73 but the pot codes are 74. Weird stuff Fender did.

That and the thumb rest is in a different location than on a 73.

I am going to say it's a 75 transitional model.
Only reason is that My Jazz is a 75 and still has
the standard neck plate and truss rod location.
The pots are 74 though!

I agree with Bill. 75/76 was the 4 to 3 bolt transition year plus Fender decal relocation. I had an all original 74 J bass that had late 74 date pots. Seller claimed it was 75. Fender used older parts on lefty basses so wouldn't surprise me. Hard to really date a lefty Fender bass with all the spare parts used to build back then as they were "special" orders. Also notice the thumbrest location.
Here are a few eye candy pics of mine. Still wish I had it.
