1979 Musiciman Sabre Bass

Post by pjmuck »

Super rare killer basses. Probably my favorite slap tone out of all the MM/EB basses ever made. I'm not sure what that gunk is all over the body edge and headstock though. Looks like someone glued glitter on it like a pre-school art project:

Someone must have been in a glam-rock/disco band in the 80's, and thought
a sparkle/binding look was just the ticket! Bottom line though - is the bass worth $1500?

What an amazing bass, I am not into getting more basses but this has been on the list for years. When I was 16 I was ready for my first bass, I had my heart set on a Rickenbacker and that is what I got but I did ask my bass teacher and he told me in 79 that Music Man were amazing basses. After I got the Ric (still a great choice) this MM has always been on the want list.

Shame about the Glitter Glue.
