Fender just released a new series of Vintage basses made in Mx, none of those models are left handed and cost a good $$, if you have never played one of these Fender Japan they are amazing for the price. In my experience my Fender Japan as been on par with US basses. This bass has a great vintage look and if it's made in Japan you know it plays great.
