NBBD (New Bass Body Day)

Post by jayceofbass »

Currently over the moon with the result of this Warmoth body build. I thought it was time for a refresh of my trusty ol' Hot Rod P.
Build details...
Chambered mahogany core wood.
Swamp ash top.
Cream binding.
Gold top gold top.
Clear gloss back.
PJ rout.
Geezer Butler P/U's
Hipshot bridge.
Neck is a Fender straight off of my Hot Rod P.

Sometimes I think, maybe I'm lucky I'm left handed. If I could play any bass I wanted, my collection would REALLY be out of control.

Dusty Hill (from them ZZ Topps) inspired bound goldtop finish?

Absolutely - with my own preferences added in. I might even - at some point - get a maple /maple neck built with a reverse headstock to make it even more of a tribute.

I love Gold Top basses and the Cream Binding just puts it over the top!

(BTW), I am editing this cause this is the 4th time I looked at the pictures as this bass has an amazing appeal.

Awesome! Looks fantastic. Very curious how the chambered body works on the tones too.
