D’Angelico ABG

Post by Matt R. »

Just ordered one of these D’Angelico acoustic basses. They get positive reviews and look/sound nice. Anyone here tried one?

that's the one thing they haven't brought to NAMM in the last couple of years. Unless of course I missed stumbling over one
If it's built anything like their other acoustic instruments you'll be pleased when it arrives!

Yeah I have pretty good expectations. Not a big ABG guy since they really don’t truly work acoustically but I’ve been wanting to try one of these for a minute now.

May I be rude enough to ask how much they are asking for it?

It sounds really nice and looks a lot better than most acoustic basses I've seen around.
Congrats, it looks like a great + fun bass!

The cheaper version sounded better than the $1000 version in the demo vids. I was pretty psyched about that.

Just wondering. Why is tuned ABG and what is the other string tuned to?

Just got the bass. It’s really damn nice. Needed a little truss rod tweak, and I dropped it off to have the bridge saddle cut down some. That action was sky high, man. But the quality is really there. Fishman pre sounds nice so far too!
