My new Sting Ray 4

Post by Jules1 »

so as you may remember - I've bought this one here (thanks to bob__johnson for posting) - http://leftybassist.com/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=8748 - and after one month of waiting due to the sloooow postal service I finally picked it up at the customs two days ago :) 8-)

It's a 2007 (confirmed at EB) and it's like new - hasn't been played much - was sold from first hand (better say the seller was a friend of the owner) - it's a pretty good sounding Bass BUT you can hear that it hasn't been played much... I have a 97' borrowed from a friend that is pretty rocked down and this one bites a bit more.... but the good foundation is also with the 2007 one so let's play play play  - the neck seems to have changed from 97' to 07' since the 07' has a little chunkier neck..... the replacement bone nut was done pretty good (was at my shop today)

The Ash has a nice (like a little Amber) colour tone and what's really eye candy - it has a 1 piece body :) which got it's first ding today

Very nice! My GAS list is getting very short, but I definitely see a Stingray in my future.

Natural finish, maple board and black pickup cover and pickguard is always my favourite combo for the SR4! It's classy, and just a classic combination! I love it.

Thanks guys :)

I do love the Classic look also.... was looking also for a White one.... but this here is the only other combo that I like (ok, Surf Green would be fine also)

I was thinking about a Red Tort guard for this one.... what do you think ?
