LEFTY BACHBIRD (GIBSON NR T-BIRD CLONE) AQUISITION THREAD!

Post by iome »

Hi all,
this thread is for all of those who's seriously interested and has intention to buy a Lefty BachBird, a lefty reproduction of the Gibson Non Reverse Thunderbird II. We must order, at least, 20 basses.
You can see the bass on the manufactures site: http: http://www.bachmusik.com/en/p101177/th-1-wh/
It's an all mahogany bass,34" scale, 1.50" width at nut, with set neck and one Artec alnico V humbucker. A faithfull copy of the original except for the electronics, the bridge and the pickguard is slightly smaller.
The actual colors are white, black and blue.
Here's a thread from another forum where you can see what people, who's got the bass, say's about them: http://bassoutpost.com/index.php?topic=434.840
The price is 160€ plus shipping.

How much will they cost? I'm interested in a blue one, and I have a friend who'd probably buy one in each color, but I'll need to tell him the price.

I'm in! I haven't decided on a color yet, but I think we need to make certain if BaCH will give us the same color selection first.

Well, lets say that Bach didn't ask what color they should make them, if i remember right. But you can see, on their site, that those 3 colors are the same as they use for their other basses. I'm going to ask for a non colored, if possible.

Well I think I'll go with a white bird, as I don't own any basses in that color. Replace the pickguard with a black pearloid and it will be snazzy!

You guys want to compile a list of everyone here and on other forums who are interested in getting one of these basses so we can see how close/far we really are?

BTW, how much down and how long until they're made once the order is placed?

I think once we know how much we need to put down and the timeframe there'll be more people here ready to commit to this project.

Roman from Bach told me the price would be the same plus shipping. The time is unsure, it took them 2 1/2 years to do the first model, obviously it'll be less since they have the templates and the parts to finish it

Can you find out if we need to pay for the bass entirely up front or if we can put a deposit on it to get the order started?

Each buyer gets an invoice when the basses are ready to ship

It's in the first post, but you need to convert to dollars, and there is no good guess about what shipping might be.

I am looking for move in the next 6-12 months, so I actually need to purge gear before getting any. Ask me again in six months, I would love one!

How are we doing on our 20 count quota? I've got a couple of people on Facebook inquiring about details, and I'd like to get more info for them if possible. Can you get me info?

- How close are you to 20?
- What is the wait / turn around time on these?
- Also how will the payment happen, considreing it's the Czech Republic.

no deposit, but we must be sure to buy it if we order one. The payment must be done with bank transfer, ones the base is ready you get the invoice with bank details, i know that some people in the US paid around 380$ with shipping but the $ is going up and (mostly, in these days) down pretty much. We are not more than 5 buyers yet..... :(
