Lefty Hat Trick

Post by tim »

Ken Casey on bass, Tim Armstrong on guitar, and Matt Kelly on drums. I don't know whether Matt is really left handed, but he plays snare on the right, so I'm making him an honorary Backwardsian for the sake of this post.

Rancid is my favorite band of all time, but haven't seen them since 1995. Tim and Matt are 51 and Lars is 45, and they still kick as much ass as they did when I was a teenager.

Dropkick headlines this leg of the tour, as they should given our proximity to Boston.

Damn good show. I'm still pumped up sitting here at my stupid desk on Monday morning.

It's been a bunch of years since I've seen Rancid but they put on a good show.

The first picture's banner reminded me of an old (? - showing my age a bit here... :D ) movie I saw as a teenager, and fell in love with Barbara Hershey!

Ha! I wonder if that was an intentional reference.

I can only laugh at the Charlie Brown Christmas Special pot plant on the cover. All it needs is a little red ball pulling it over.

Ken has a different bass now. This is the best picture of it I was able to get: https://goo.gl/photos/xMoLe6JQUkew8p768

I couldn't find out anything directly, but it looks like it might be a Duesneberg: http://duesenbergusa.com/products/starp ... index.html

They don't seen to offer them in lefty, so it's a pretty neat trick that he was able to get one. It doesn't seem very punk, but it sure is lovely :D
