I asked Chris at Pick of the Ricks about this a couple months ago, and he said that RIC hasn't put the next run of lefties on the schedule yet, so it will likely be quite some time.
The way RIC works is that they don't throw in a few lefties here and there during a run of a particular model. They make lefties of all models that they decide to make in a single run, and that is all the lefties they make until they do another lefty run. They basically treat left-handed instruments as a separate model, collectively.
From a process perspective, this makes sense. It's less machine changeover time.

I agree. I like the body shape of the S more than the standard 4003.
If you are seriously interested, I would contact an authorized Rickenbacker dealer to express your interest. Us lefties usually have to make a lot of noise to get noticed!

Yeah, I second this. If I'm not mistaken, I think there also has to be enough pre-orders before Ric does a batch of Lefties.
