Sire V7 4-String Marcus Miller
Sire V7 4-String Marcus Miller
Hey Everyone!
I am going to sell the Sire Bass that I bought from Tim here on the forum. The bass was purchased to look into the possibility of making hardware that would be a direct replacement. After some thought, we felt at this time that would not be an option, so I used the bass to figure what parts we have that would be suitable.
What you will be getting is the bass, which is in Great shape, as when I received it, with upgraded hardware along with the original stock hardware, the gig bag that came with her and free shipping to the lower 48. The bass also now sports Dunlop dual action strap buttons and a fresh set of DR High Beam bass strings. The pictures are of the new hardware and a few from Tim with his approval. Here is the original link,

I am asking $300 and as above, with free shipping. I am going to stay pretty firm on the price, unless the buyer helps with the shipping. Sorry about this part, but sale to the U.S. only.
Thanks for looking!

Re: Sire V7 4-String Marcus Miller
If there was one thing I would have improved on this bass (any bass, really), it would have been a top-loading bridge. Now it's the perfect animal!
Re: Sire V7 4-String Marcus Miller
Thanks Tim! I should state that the bridge is Brass Chrome. If weight is a problem, I can include an aluminum chrome bridge that I have in my office. You will have to change the saddles.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Man, that is a beauty.
This is interesting. Why do you prefer top-loading?tim wrote:If there was one thing I would have improved on this bass (any bass, really), it would have been a top-loading bridge.

Re: Sire V7 4-String Marcus Miller
I might not be using the right word. When I say "top loading," I mean bridges having a slot that allows me to add or remove a string without having to thread it all the way through the bridge. Is there a different phrase for that?
Whenever I get a new bass I always try a half dozen strings or more before I decide what the bass likes best. It gets tiresome to wind and unwind the curled-up string ends through the tight holes of a traditional bridge.

I think the name you are looking for would be "Quick Loading."
Re: Sire V7 4-String Marcus Miller
Thank you! Yes, quick-loading. Every bass should have one

Sorry guys!
Everyone has been pm'd. I am starting the task of looking at what I am planning on letting go. I am showing the signs of a horder while looking through them...........
I will try to put more up this week. Right now I am also preparing for a trip to Hilo, Hawaii in a few weeks for my Mother's Birthday.
Thanks!
Bill

Oh yes Pete, I still am- in fact I sold quite a few to a certain well known guy here (who will hopefully post some reviews soon). Since I will only be keeping a few things I would like to have one of these Sires to hang onto.screambasses wrote:I thought you were going to sell a bunch of your basses.Carmine wrote:I pm'd Bill early this morning- still haven't heard from him.... I will post my reviews/comments soon, and offer some of my other basses up for sale to make room for the ones from Carmine. I've been traveling for work and vacation, so haven't had time just yet...
