+1 on what dealer you got it from. Trying to find an actual Canadian dealer who is still in business or still selling G & L is brutal. The list on the G & L site for Cdn dealers is WAY outta date.

Note: given that I am majorly GASsing for one of these, and have no financial prospects for getting one in the foreseeable future, a review with some combination of "hangs like an anchor on my shoulder, major neck dive, sits terribly in the mix, weak G string, tons of dead spots," etc. would be welcome.

The Review (of which I should copy down the the review section)

General Fit & Finish
Completely excellent fit and finish all around. I am a big fan of the Satin Frost top coat that G&L offers, it makes playing a lot more comfortable when I switch to pick playing. Gloss tops tend to give me a mild rash after half an hour.
For this bass I have a 9.5" radius neck with satin finish and the nut width is a touch wider than 1.5" (it's actually around 1.5825") which makes the string spacing fantastic actually. The neck itself is fast and straight, I was able to lower the action to my preferred height which is pretty close to a credit card off the frets.
Only minor issue I found was the groove for the A string on the nut was cut a little loose and it was cause the "A-rattle" that can be common with MiM Fenders - very quickly remedied with a different set of strings and a fresh setup.

Tone & Electronics

The controls themselves are very simple, 1 Vol and 1 Tone and a 3-way switch.
The 3 way switch in the forward or up position gives you the humbucker in series mode which is great for heavy tunes, in combination with the gain on my Ampeg pinned and the series switch engaged I was able to drive my amp into a wonderful stoner rock sludge of low end mirth without a fuzz pedal or drive in the signal chain. I like that a lot.

The middle position of the switch gives you the "single coil" mode, which is the forward row of the pickup in what sounds to be series with itself. It actually has a very P-Bass like response, and I've actually found myself using it heavily in the mix with my band as it gives a nice mid-focused attack with tons of articulation. It's a very punk rock voice with plenty of low end balanced against upper mids, and it's really great for a Mike Dirnt style pick attack playing style.

Last position on the switch is the parallel mode, which is a nice smooth balanced tone with a touch of Stingray-like snarl on the edges. While comparable to the 'Ray in the pickups positioning, the MFD pickup itself is a bit more hi-fi in it's voice and that really comes through when you run the bass in parallel mode. The highs have a clear chime throughout the neck and the lower frequency has a piano-like clarity that makes it really easy to dial into any mix without getting "honky".

I haven't put this bass down much since I brought it home, it's definitely going to be my main player for a little while. At least until I get a new JB in the house
