Jaguar Bass surf green

Post by Bassaria »

Here's that Jaguar bass I've been tweaking up over the last few months. It probably has about 30 gigs on it so far with me and it's really a great ax. Here's the deets;
Crafted in Japan Jaguar Bass (black original paint)
Rosewood neck with blocks....thin jazz width
Fender Custom Shop 66 Jazz pickups
CTS Pots with orange drop
Lowered the switches with washers under.
Kept Original fender active preamp (boost only bass treble on dials)
Kept 3 way original. On off pickups. Parallel in/out
80s Badass II bridge
Thumb rest
Reranch Surf Green multiple coats
Reranch nitro multiple coats.
The bass was well worn and dinged on the body when I got it so after shooting the green over the black (like fender did for custom colors) I went back and chipped out all the original dings. Added arm wear and wear at the pickups and dropped keys a few times all over. Purist me? Nah.....
Left the strap button on the lower horn (the hole was there when I bought it)

Very nice! It's quite funny (in the good way) to see an instrument that didn't even exist more than a decade ago reliced to look like it's been in service since the 60s.

Man, that bass is cooler than a quart of mint ice cream in a sub-zero freezer. 8-)

You certainly didn't have to worry about laying it down on those concrete pavers for pics, did you! Very nice job of relic-ing - it has the look of a well played bass!

nope - no worries about laying this one down....its my go to bass for gigs that the crowd is dicey, space is tight, or peeps are sitting in.
F and Sadowsky stay home and wait for "proper" gigs.
now to go buy some chocolate sauce for that ice cream.....
