Squier P-bass Standard Plus Extras!

Post by Billw97 »

I am letting my Squier P-bass Standard (Special...whatever!) go and thought that I would offer it here first if anyone is interested. This is the rarely seen metallic red finish from the earlier models before Sunburst and Black became the default colors. She is in very good condition and plays very nice. Tone pot is a little scratchy and the pickups are stock.Very little fret wear
The hardware has been replaced and it comes with a fresh set of Dunlop Super Bright Nickels. The extras are a fretless lined neck from the same series with stock tuners and string retainer. The original set of stock tuners and bridge along with a gig bag. The neck has been stored with the tension removed from the truss rod.
I am selling the set for $225.00 plus $25.00 for shipping. Sorry, but USA only for the set. Give me a shout if you have any questions.
Thanks!

Bill

Just to let you all know, I've been working with Bill on the sale of this "set" for the past week, and bought it from him! We PM'd back-and-forth over the past several days, and he's changed it over to the fretless neck, and added some Hipshot extras, at Bill typically does... I can't wait to get this bass, and have fun playing it, and experiencing the "mwah...."

Bill also sold me his 1996 Alembic Epic a couple of years back... he's a stellar lefty board member to work with!! :D

Just sent this to Bill in an email... a Great forum member to work with!

"Hi Bill,

sorry I haven't gotten back to you since I received the bass about two weeks ago... I'm doing a HUGE roof renovation project for a friend, and it's consuming huge amounts of energy/time from me....

So far, I've had the opportunity to play the bass at several rehearsals, and one open mic/jam gig that I do every Tuesday. Really enjoying playing the bass! Never thought I'd have this much fun playing a four-string! Feedback on the sound/tone has been very positive... I've had to adjust the pickups a bit, and I'm going to have to tweak the action to get a bit more "mwah" out of it, but I'm not going overboard on it....

My fingering/intonation/ear abilities are good enough that most people aren't aware that it's a fretless until I point it out! Got to say, the best $250 I've spent in a long while! :)

Thanks again for all you did to swap the necks on this bass, and put on a Hipshot bridge, and tuners, plus the flatwounds... what brand are they by the way - I like 'em!

Looking forward to working with you on what-ever my next purchase is... be it another bass, or just parts! And, I WILL send you an Aloha package one-day soon..... :)

Aloha, Mahalo, and Thanks!

Ian"

Thanks Ian! The same goes for you! Maybe someday I can buy from you! The strings are DR flats.
